The Computer History Museum (CHM), the world's leading institution exploring the history of computing and its ongoing impact on society, today announced the appointment of Janet S. Wong, a corporate board director and audit committee chairman with Enviva Partners, to the Museum’s Board of Trustees. Based on her more than 30 years in public accounting, Wong has extensive experience working with clients in the consumer markets, financial services, and technology sectors. Wong has been the audit committee chairman of Enviva Partners GP LLC, general partner of Enviva Partners, LP since May 2014.
“Janet brings valuable insights from her financial oversight of both technology companies and non-profits,” said CHM board chair Len Shustek. “With decades of experience, she will play an important role as a trustee and member of our audit committee.”
Wong is a retired partner with KPMG, where she spent the majority of her career based in the San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices, providing her with industry experience in technology, manufacturing, and financial services. During her career with KPMG, she worked with Fortune 500 companies and emerging technology companies that successfully listed on an exchange as a public corporation.
“My family culture inspired me to work hard and give back to my community. From my background of living in Silicon Valley and experience with high technology companies, I look forward to helping the CHM continue to be a leading institution in the world and to fulfill its mission to preserve the history of computing,” said Wong.
Wong has been a trusted advisor to her clients, working with CEOs, CFOs, board directors, and audit committees. In addition to her public board experience, Wong has nonprofit board experience that includes the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties, and Tax-Aid. Currently, she is an advisor to the Audit Committee of the American Heart Association.
Wong is a licensed certified public accountant. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Women Corporate Directors, and the Silicon Valley Directors Exchange.
