Lily Cordero is former assistant program coordinator for the Computer History Museum’s DesignCodeBuild program. Working closely with Bay Area nonprofit youth organizations and local schools, Lily strives to make the Museum’s educational opportunities available to all middle school students. Her passions for teaching and educational research are why she chooses to lead this program. Lily double-majored in History of Science and Writing, graduating summa cum laude from the University of California, San Diego in 2015. As a writing tutor working with first-generation and ESL college students, finding out how to improve students’ relationship to writing was a key goal of her educational research practicum. Before graduating, Lily also received departmental honors with highest distinction from the Literature Department for her thesis, Videogames: The Literature of Our Time. Prior to her time at CHM, Lily also spent time at the Smithsonian American Art Museum as an intern for their Research and Scholars Center, where she assisted with the museum’s journal as well as their fellowship programs.
